The other night I went to see my buddys in Attack! Vipers! support Coliseum, and Narrows. I’ve heard people talking about Coliseum for a while now but never got round to checking them out, so it was awesome to be blown away by them.
Picked up a copy of their new album on glitter black vinyl, it sounds amazing and looks rad!
Booked a tour for my mates in We’ll Die Smiling with Lets Talk Daggers. This tour should be fun, can’t wait !
Hidden under the rock that is South London, is a band who are slowly scuttling out, and de-shelling themselves to reveal their brutal nature; Rough Hands is their name. Releasing a self-titled four track 7 inch, clocking under the 10 minute mark, Rough Hands are about to make a name for themselves.
The basic colour scheme is a concise, no nonsense metallic hardcore punk sound. Tracks like ‘Dilute’ and ‘Maledictus’ sees this style delivered in a fast violent tempo in the beginning. This then slows along a mid tempo bass rolling shout out or skull smashing hardcore punk breakdown. The main theme channelling through this chaos are the ear piercing yells from Alex Dench.

Fight against anything that physically stops you living your life the way you (not society) want to.
Do it with words and billboards (if that doesn’t work, I hear fire is an excellent motivator for change)
Ignore every bastard and bitch who talk and yell and label and talk down to you. Don’t give the ignorant credence. You are better than that.
Your sexuality, race or gender does not define you. What you are is not a definition. It’s just being called ‘Human’

The reason people find it hard to shed these labels- ‘queer’, ‘gay’, ‘black’, ‘woman’ - and instead, even embrace them - is because they’re told every single day of their life that they’re worthless and pathetic and ‘not as good as you’ and don’t deserve the same rights and don’t deserve the same treatment and the same opportunities…
People take on these labels because they’re proud of who they are and that is their fight. It’s their protest. Their way of saying this IS who I am, take it or leave it.
This may be a different argument if all people of all gender, races and sexualities had the same starts in life, the same opportunities and the same chances - but they don’t. This is why they take on these labels- because they ARE different- and because they ARE different they are treated differently.
(also- ‘bitch’ - poor choice of word when one of your hashtags is ‘feminism’)
